has maintained its strength and is now off the Eastern coast of
Northern Cagayan. Centered 110 kms East of Aparri, Cagayan with maximum
sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170
kph.

August is Buwan ng Wika (Language Month). This year, the theme is "Wika Mo, Wikang Filipino, Wika ng Mundo, Mahalaga!" I'm not quite sure I understand what it means, but here's my translation: "Your language, Filipino, language of the world, is important."

Baguio's White Cane Safety Week |

(Update 14 Aug) Due to inclimate weather, the parlor games were
re-scheduled to 4 August after the Cultural & Talent Show and the
sportsfest is re-scheduled to 28-29 August.
The 10th White Cane Safety Week will be celebrated beginning with a motorcade and opening program on 4 August 2008, featuring Guest Speaker Mr. Desiderio Gapasin, who has excelled as an outstanding PWD entrepreneur. The program will be followed by a Cultural and Talent Show presented by the schools of the disabled students and an eye/ear screening by Project Luke.

MOA with (RCHi) NLAB signed |

Last July 16, 2008, the Rotary Club of Hundred Islands (RCHi) signed with the Northern Luzon Association for the Blind, Inc. (NLAB) a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that will assist NLAB's service to the Visually Impaired Children (VIC) in Western Pangasinan. RCHi also promised to contact their sisterclubs and other rotary clubs within NLAB's territory for similar assistance.
