Donors help keep school for blind afloat |

TWO years ago, a US Navy retiree was looking for the Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, a house for persons with physical disabilities, in Baguio City so he could offer his help, but the driver of the cab he took brought him instead to the school of the Northern Luzon Association of the Blind (NLAB).

Lions touch blind, orphans |

Close to 70 orphans, visually impaired or deaf children in La Trinidad,
Benguet and Baguio City received post Christmas gifts like clothes and
toys from the Baguio Everlasting Lions Club (BELC).
From RSCC, the civic group proceeded to the Northern Luzon Association
of the Blind (NLAB) along Marcos Highway to also give clothes to 39
visually or hearing-impaired schoolchildren aged seven to 18 years old.

Baguio's White Cane Safety Week |

(Update 14 Aug) Due to inclimate weather, the parlor games were
re-scheduled to 4 August after the Cultural & Talent Show and the
sportsfest is re-scheduled to 28-29 August.
The 10th White Cane Safety Week will be celebrated beginning with a motorcade and opening program on 4 August 2008, featuring Guest Speaker Mr. Desiderio Gapasin, who has excelled as an outstanding PWD entrepreneur. The program will be followed by a Cultural and Talent Show presented by the schools of the disabled students and an eye/ear screening by Project Luke.
